Water and Wastewater Needs Survey Seeks Input From Cities
The Wastewater Infrastructure Needs Survey is a biennial assessment required by the state to project upcoming funding needs for publicly owned water and wastewater treatment across Minnesota.
As part of the state’s efforts to understand the scope of anticipated repairs, replacements, and upgrades to drinking water and wastewater treatment systems, the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (MPFA) emailed the Water Infrastructure Fund Needs Survey on Sept. 3 to all communities with projects on the Drinking Water Revolving Fund and Clean Water Revolving Fund project priority lists.
Communities with projects on those lists should complete the survey by Sept. 25. This information is important in helping MPFA identify water infrastructure affordability needs across the state.
Access the Water Infrastructure Fund Needs Survey via the Project Info Worksheet tab, and return the completed form to [email protected].
The 2027 draft intended use plans will be posted on the MPFA website in early October, setting the stage for future allocations from the state and federal funding sources available to cities. Communities should review the draft intended use plans to ensure their intended project was captured correctly on the appropriate list. For questions or comments, contact [email protected].
