Loss Control Alert: Ryobi Pressure Washer Recall
A nationwide recall has been issued for certain Ryobi pressure washers due to a serious projectile hazard. Overheating parts can rupture and eject with force, causing injuries.
Cities should take immediate action:
- Check all your departments (public works, parks, utilities, etc.) for recalled models.
- Affected models: RY142300 (2300 PSI) and RY142711VNM (2700 PSI), sold at Home Depot and Direct Tools Factory Outlet between 2017–2024.
- If found, stop using it immediately, take out of service and request a free repair kit from Ryobi.
Why it matters
These units have already caused injuries, including fractures and facial trauma. Prompt action protects staff safety and reduces liability risk.
