How to save a PDF

If you would like to save the page you’re viewing as a PDF document, here are the steps:

  1. Click icon with 3 stacked dots Setting button with vertical dots / Setting button with horizontal dots or Setting button with stacked lines lines to the right of the URL bar at the top of your browser
  2. Select the “Print” option
  3. A pop up window like this one should appear, ensure the Destination field is set to “Save as PDF” (this may be a dropdown or “Change” button)
  4. Click “Save,” then select the location and name for the file on your computer

LMCIT Partners With New Prescription Provider for Injured Workers

Starting July 1, the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT) has a new partner managing prescription drug benefits for injured workers: Healthesystems, a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) that has worked in workers’ compensation for more than 20 years.

What a PBM does

A PBM handles the pharmacy side of a workers’ compensation claim. That includes:

  • Managing the network of pharmacies where injured workers fill prescriptions.
  • Negotiating drug prices.
  • Running clinical programs, including drug formularies.
  • Reviewing how medications are used.

What’s changing for LMCIT members

Nothing about existing workers’ compensation claims changes. Current prescriptions will keep being processed under the same rules and treatment plans already in place. Injured workers still have access to the same broad retail pharmacy network and mail order service, and covered, work-related prescriptions still carry no out-of-pocket cost.

Process for newly injured workers

Prescriptions are sometimes needed before a workers’ compensation claim is finished being set up. Under Healthesystems’ First Fill Program, injured workers can get an initial 10-day supply of necessary medication at participating pharmacies while the claim is being finalized, so they’re not stuck paying out of pocket or waiting for care.

A First Fill form should be given to injured workers at the time of injury, to bring to the pharmacist. Access the First Fill information and a pharmacy search tool.
