Minnesota Facility Operators: Important Notice from Gopher State One Call
Gopher State One Call (GSOC) recently notified facility operators about important updates made to Minnesota Statute 216D. These changes introduce new requirements that will affect facility operators beginning in 2026 and 2027.
Mandatory Electronic Positive Response Begins Aug. 1, 2026
Effective Aug. 1, 2026, all facility operators must provide an electronic positive response for every excavation notice through the notification center before the required locate period expires.
Responses must be submitted through iSite, GSOC’s online ticketing system. If your city or utility is not currently using electronic positive response, GSOC can help you get set up. Contact the GSOC Customer Support team at [email protected] for support.
Updated Contact Information Requirement Begins Jan. 1, 2027
Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, facility operators must keep their contact information with the notification center up to date by:
- Updating contact information whenever changes occur.
- Confirming or updating contact information at least quarterly following any change.
