THE LEAGUE THANKS OUTGOING BOARD MEMBERS
The following members of the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) Board of Directors recently completed their Board terms. The League thanks them for their service.
Shelly Carlson
MAYOR | CITY OF MOORHEAD | CGMC REPRESENTATIVE
Serving as the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities representative on the League of Minnesota Cities Board has been an incredibly rewarding experience. During my time on the Board, I gained an even deeper appreciation for the collaborative spirit of Minnesota cities and the importance of bringing communities of all sizes together to solve challenges.
I was especially impressed by the thoughtful leadership and dedication of my fellow Board members, who care deeply about strengthening local government across our state. One thing that will stay with me is the relationships built through this work and the shared commitment to helping our communities thrive.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have represented the CGMC and look forward to the League’s continued impact across Minnesota.
Jeffrey Dahl
CITY ADMINISTRATOR | CITY OF WOODBURY | METRO CITIES REPRESENTATIVE
It has been an honor to serve as the Metro Cities representative on the LMC Board this past year. Better decisions are made when more perspectives are included, and the Board is an excellent example of that. I’ve learned a great deal from the conversations and thoughtful discussions, and I now have a better understanding and deep appreciation of the wide range of challenges cities across Minnesota face.
Challenges create opportunity, and the Board does important work to ensure the League remains the premier resource of choice for its members. The Board strategically advocates for ALL of the state’s diverse municipalities while, at the same time, providing direction and support to help ensure the organization remains a premier employer.
I’m proud and grateful to have been part of such a smart and purpose-driven team of staff and Board members who work tirelessly to make our organizations and communities better.
Brian Heck
CITY ADMINISTRATOR | CITY OF MONTGOMERY | MAOSC REPRESENTATIVE
Serving on the LMC Board as the Minnesota Association of Small Cities representative over the past 18 months has been a rewarding and educational experience. I am proud to have served with a group of dedicated and passionate individuals who seek to ensure the viability and strength of cities of all sizes.
I am truly impressed with the way the Board and the LMC staff manage the many diverse challenges facing cities.
Scott Neal
CITY MANAGER | CITY OF EDINA
I have really enjoyed my three-year term on the Board. As a Board member, I joined local government leaders from across Minnesota to help guide the most important local government institutions in our great state.
I have also enjoyed working with League staff and learning more about their challenges and how I could help support their success. More than anything else, I deeply appreciated the opportunity to “do my part” for the League and for my local government colleagues.
It has been a wonderful experience.
