Local Government Perspective Needed on Recovery Residence Work Group
The Minnesota Department of Human Services’ Recovery Residence Work Group is seeking a local government member with planning, zoning, housing, or land use experience to help shape recommendations.
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Behavioral Health Administration is seeking a local government representative to join the Recovery Residence Work Group, which is currently meeting to develop recommendations related to recovery residences in Minnesota.
Convened at the direction of the Minnesota Legislature, the work group is exploring funding and regulatory options and implementation strategies to strengthen recovery residence policy and practice. Members are helping to engage communities, review research, share expertise, and shape recommendations for a final report to the Legislature by January 2027.
Because local governments often play an important role in zoning, occupancy, housing, land use, and community response, DHS is seeking someone with local government experience to bring that perspective to the group’s discussions. Local government officials, staff members, or others with relevant experience who are interested in participating can contact Marcus Chaffee at [email protected] or (651) 424-0707 for more information.
