We can help your city:

NEW: Plan for a cyber incident. We created incident planning templates to help you plan for and manage cyber incidents using similar methods used in emergency preparedness planning. These templates will help you to take inventory of the technology tools your city needs to function and then develop business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response plans to help your city recover from an incident.

Need help using these templates? Email Christian Torkelson at ctorkelson@lmc.org for assistance.

  • Take inventory. Maintain a clear picture of your city technology environment. Use this template to track important information about city services, technology systems, and data. After all, you cannot protect what you cannot see. Download the City IT Inventory Template (xlsx)
  • Make a plan. Keep critical city services running in the face of cybersecurity or information technology incidents. This template helps city staff document and construct alternative approaches for doing business when key technology systems can fail. Download the IT Business Continuity Template (doc)
  • Recover after an incident. Get your city back up and running after an information technology or cybersecurity incident. This template defines technical approaches for backing up and recovering critical systems and data. Download the IT Disaster Recovery Plan Template (doc)

Train your staff (or yourself). We offer security awareness training for staff, managers, and elected officials — in person or online.

Procure technology. We offer support for evaluating technology solutions and services. We can also assist in developing RFPs or interpreting vendor proposals.

Create a citywide strategy. Our staff can help facilitate conversations with elected officials and senior staff to identify city priorities and goals for technology in the municipal environment. Focuses include budgeting for technology solutions and the role of city leaders in technology decision-making.
