This course is for responsible authorities and designees, or those who require more detailed knowledge of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and fulfilling data requests. The course explores key responsibilities for handling data requests and managing city government data.
By completing this course, you’ll not only understand what constitutes government data, but be prepared to take action as the responsible authority when a data request is received.
By the end of this course, you will be able to do the following:
- Give an overview of the role and purpose of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
- Identify your key responsibilities as a responsible authority or designee in your city.
- Recognize the four key steps in the data request process.
