The League of Minnesota Cities is a membership organization dedicated to promoting excellence in local government. The League serves its more than 800 member cities through advocacy, education and training, policy development, risk management, and other services.

David Unmacht, previously a senior vice president for Springsted Incorporated, started as the League’s new executive director on Aug. 1, 2015. He replaced Jim Miller, who retired in July following 22 years of service. Unmacht brings an extensive amount of knowledge and local government experience to the position.
