LMC Welcomes Three New Ambassadors

The League welcomes Dan Donahue (New Hope), Paye Flomo (Hampton), and H. Dan Ness (Alexandria) to the ranks of LMC Ambassadors. Bob Derus (Buffalo), Larry Jerviss (Houston), Paul McLaughlin (Renville), and Tom Thelen (Paynesville) are also recent recruits to the ambassador program.

They join 12 existing ambassadors: Larry Bakken (Golden Valley), Bill Bassett (Madison Lake), Severin Blenkush (Browerville), Jerry Bohnsack (Deerwood), Bill Craig (St. Michael), Ray Ecklund (Crookston), Les Heitke (Willmar), Sam Shult (Winthrop), Paul Sparks (Albert Lea), Bob Thistle (Coon Rapids), Linda Weber (Wanda), and John Young Jr. (Hawley).

Through the Ambassador Program, retired city officials (both elected and staff) visit with city staff and elected members throughout the state on behalf of the League. Ambassadors also attend meetings or gatherings of city officials in their region and offer limited advice on various governance and local government topics.

Ambassadors work to ensure members are aware of the services available to them through League membership, and that member needs are heard and addressed.

Ambassadors are also available to make a visit upon a city’s request. To request a visit, contact the Ambassador in your region.
