The League is seeking an elected or appointed city official to serve on the Scoring/Oversight Committee of the state Service Planning Grant Program.
The State Fire Marshal Division (SFMD) administers the Service Planning Grant Program (previously called the Shared Services Grant Program), which provides grant awards to Minnesota fire departments to study sharing of resources in their areas. The newly revised program is currently accepting applications for the $250,000 available until June 20, 2019.
Service Planning Grants can be used for information-gathering and a variety of studies. Those studies can examine everything from sharing training needs, administrative costs, personnel and equipment, to full consolidation of departments.
The Scoring/Oversight Committee is part of the application process for the Service Planning Grant Program. The committee will have one member each from the following organizations:
The group meets only as needed to review and score the applications submitted for the fiscal year 2018-2019 program. The first meeting will likely be at the beginning of 2018.
How to apply
Interested applicants should complete a short questionnaire and submit it with a resume or brief bio to Laura Ziegler and Heather Corcoran at firstname.lastname@example.org by 12 p.m. on Oct. 25.
