Northfield councilmember Pownell elected as League of Minnesota Cities president for 2016-17
(June 16, 2016 – St. Paul, Minn.) Rhonda Pownell, councilmember in the City of Northfield, was elected today as the president of the League of Minnesota Cities for 2016-2017. The election was held today at the League’s Annual Conference in St. Paul.
Pownell was first elected to the City Council in 2008, and is currently serving her second term. She has served on the Northfield Economic Development Authority Board, the Northfield Enterprise Center Board, the Fire Relief Association Board, the League of Minnesota Cities Board of Directors, and the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust. Pownell graduated from St. Olaf College in 1993 with a degree in social work.
