With all the uncertainty around holding elections during the pandemic, elections officials will likely find the weekly emails helpful.
The pandemic has created some unusual challenges for elections this year. Because of that, State Elections Director David Maeda is providing weekly email updates to elections administrators in cities, counties, and townships.
For example, the June 17 update included information about the state’s effort to provide personal protective equipment to polling places for 2020 elections, the status of reimbursements for the presidential nomination primary, and lawsuits related to absentee and mail voting.
“I know we all in elections crave finality in implementing our processes, and [there is a lot of] uncertainty,” Maeda said in last week’s email. “I will keep you informed as final decisions are determined.”
