Local Government Salary & Benefits Survey Hiatus
Survey participants are advised to download reports before Aug. 31, 2022 as the current survey platform will not be supported after that date.
The Local Government Salary & Benefits Survey software platform used by Minnesota cities and counties will not be available after Aug. 31, 2022, because the underlying technology is outdated and will no longer be supported. The survey is a partnership of the League of Minnesota Cities, Metro Cities, and the Association of Minnesota Counties and has been in use for more than 10 years.
The survey partners are actively pursuing a request for proposal (RFP) process to replace the survey software platform. The RFP process and implementation of a new survey technology is likely to take at least a year. The League is not aware of a survey platform providing the same functionality as the one currently in use, so the next iteration of the online survey will likely be somewhat different.
Survey participants should download data by Aug. 31
Cities that rely on the survey data should download and print by Aug. 31 any reports needed in the next year. While the survey data may still be accessible after Aug. 31, access and functionality are not guaranteed past that point.
Most survey participants recently updated their cities’ survey data. If your city has not yet completed your updates, plan to do so as soon as possible.

Provide feedback on the survey, help evaluate RFP responses
All survey participants were notified via email of the coming hiatus and will also be emailed a link to a survey asking for their thoughts on which aspects of the salary survey are most useful to them. Please complete the survey as responses will help to identify and prioritize important functionalities to include in the RFP.
If you have interest in serving on the committee that will help evaluate RFP responses, please contact League HR Representative Mindy Corby at mcorby@lmc.org.
