Answers to FAQs on the Regulation of Cannabis Products Now Available

This new resource has information for cities related to the new edible cannabinoid law.

A new law was enacted at the end of the 2022 legislative session that allows certain edible and beverage products infused with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) to be sold. Since the enactment of the law, the League of Minnesota Cities has been researching and collecting information from state agencies and stakeholders to answer questions pertaining to local regulatory authority, law enforcement, taxing, and employment.

The League has developed these frequently asked questions (FAQs) to provide information to cities on the new law to assist local governments in making decisions related to the law. The League will continually update the information as necessary.
