Three new city case studies and additional resources for youth outreach are now available in the City Career Advantage section of the League’s website.
The City Career Advantage project is dedicated to helping your city be an “employer of choice” in today’s tight job market, and retain the experienced and highly valued staff you already have.
- Examples from Richfield and North St. Paul, Eagan, and Lakeville offer low-cost and no-cost ideas for building a positive work culture, recruiting seasonal staff, and creating smoother transitions when staff depart.
- The youth outreach section now offers examples of city engagement with students, and brings back the Discover Your City Superpower Quiz to help prompt conversations about city careers.
In addition to case studies and youth outreach materials, the project also features materials you can use for connecting with and informing job seekers about the opportunities in cities.

League staff will be adding more case studies to the project throughout the year, including some additional showcases again before June. Let us know if your city has a strategy you think other cities may benefit from, or if there is a hiring or retention challenge that you would like to see addressed.
