Mediation Training for Cities and Counties

Help your organization communicate effectively, explore underlying needs, and collaborate:  become a mediator. All levels of experience can benefit from this four-day mediation training designed specifically for city and county officials. Attendees will walk away with an in-depth understanding of the five-step mediation process.

During this program, you will:

  • Build your listening and questioning skills
  • Break down how conflict works
  • Hone your negotiation skills
  • Practice facilitating difficult conversations

Registration requirements:

Important: This is a small cohort, and only 10 spots are available to Minnesota cities. (Maximum of two registrants per city.)

City staff and officials may register below. Participants representing Minnesota counties should register on the Association of Minnesota Counties website at mncounties.org.

Certification

This course is frequently called a Rule 114 Certified MN Supreme Court General Mediation Skills Course and requires completion of 30 hours for court qualification. Participants must be present for all four (full) days to fulfill this requirement.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests must be emailed to registration@lmc.org by Sept. 12 to receive a 50% refund. After this date, we are unable to issue refunds for any reason. You may send a substitute.
