City of Bemidji Council Member Ron Johnson elected as League of Minnesota Cities president for 2022-2023

(June 24, 2022 – Duluth, Minn.) Ron Johnson, council member from the City of Bemidji, was elected yesterday as the president of the League of Minnesota Cities for 2022-23. Voting was held at the League’s Annual Conference in Duluth.

Johnson, who works at Lakeland PBS television, has served on the Bemidji City Council for 20 years. Last year, he served as the League’s 1st Vice President. He is also a former president of the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities.

“Ron Johnson is a long-time member of the League, and a good friend to our organization,” said Dave Unmacht, the League’s executive director. “His dedication to Bemidji and the entire community of cities in our state is inspiring. We look forward to his thoughtful leadership during these challenging, yet exciting times for municipal government in Minnesota.”
