League-TPT Documentaries Explore City Issues
The League has partnered with Twin Cities Public Television (TPT) on three documentaries:
- Building Community: It's an Art explores the connection between the arts and community vitality. It features a mix of interviews, history, and commentary to discuss how a community can be strengthened and improved by having art in its many forms as part of daily life. This documentary was produced in 2010.
- Green Cities: Leading the Way focuses on the energy reduction initiatives of four Minnesota cities: Barnesville, Elk River, Minneapolis, and New Ulm. This program provides viewers with useful information about energy efficiency and sustainability issues. It was produced in 2008.
- Great Waters Gone Bad is about the impaired conditions of Minnesota waters and how compliance with the Federal Clean Water Act is impacting business and residential development in our cities. It was produced in 2006.
TPT will rebroadcast Great Waters Gone Bad at the following times:
- Feb. 5 at 5:30 a.m.
- Feb. 5 at 11:30 p.m.
TPT continues to rebroadcast all of these documentaries. Airtimes are posted here as they are scheduled.
These documentaries are also available on DVD at a cost of $5 each.
