Cities should coordinate flood response with county Emergency Operation Centers

The Minnesota Homeland Security Emergency Management's Department of Public Safety (HSEM-DPS) is the coordinating agency for flood response and mitigation. HSEM-DPS recently opened the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) to coordinate these efforts.

Cities should not self-deploy to other communities, but should coordinate their efforts through their county EOC or via a direct request from the SEOC, which will be in the form of a News Release located on the SEOC website.

The SEOC webite includes information on all hazards, including spring 2010 flooding. The link to "Spring 2010 Flooding" will take you to the website for spring flooding, and includes situation reports, photos, news releases, and related links.
