Ergonomic reviews can help cities identify workstation issues that may create employee health issues such as wrist aches, tired eyes and lower back aches.
Regularly scheduled, annual ergonomic reviews of employee workstations should include review of the work area, including the desk/table height; chair fit; keyboard, mouse and monitor positions; wrist rests; document holders; lighting and glare. LMCIT's ergonomic review checklist, listed below, is a helpful tool for these reviews.
Loss Control consultants can provide ergonomic reviews and on-site training for city staff.
