Search the Handbook (11th edition)

The 11th edition features links to cited attorney general opinions and an index to be used as an additional search aide. All chapters of the online Handbook have been updated through the 2007 legislative session. The League will produce a 12th edition, online and in print, following the 2008 legislative session.

Authorities and references for more information within each topic are linked to online sources for immediate access to statutes and rules, recent court cases, state and federal agencies, government organizations, and more.

The online Handbook is continuously updated. The chapter's latest revision date is noted in parentheses in the table of contents, as well as in the footer of each chapter. You may view the Handbook online, or download and print the Handbook for your use.

How to find information in the Handbook:

• Table of Contents
      Browse through a listing of chapters until you find the one you want. Click on     the title to open the chapter. Close or minimize the pdf file to choose again.
  
  
• Search for a word or phrase
      Search the entire Handbook and get the list of chapters in which your search     terms appear. The first chapter listed in the results contains your search     words the most number of times. Click the "Back" button of your browser to     to return to your search results or to search again.
  
  
• Search the index (pdf)
      Use the subject index to search by an alphabetical index of topics for words or     concepts. (The index is provided primarily for use with the print version and is     not interactive.)
